The National Rural Network of Türkiye is undergoing alignment with the EU Common Agricultural Policy Network and is being disseminated nationally. A primary and crucial responsibility of the Common Agricultural Policy Network is to conduct thematic studies on priority issues in agriculture and rural development

In alignment with this goal, the “Technical Assistance for Thematic Group Studies” project was initiated. As part of the project, an inaugural meeting was convened between the Managing Authority team and the contractor company, presided over by Özge TEKİN, Head of the Managing Authority Department. Discussions and exchanges of views took place regarding the specific project activities

The project seeks to execute four distinct activities:
1- Identification of Thematic Study Topics and Provinces
2- Thematic Workshop Event
3- Case Studies on Thematic Topics
4- Result-Sharing and Evaluation Meeting
The activities of the Thematic Working Group (TWG) established under the project will contribute to the formulation, execution, and enhancement of strategies in agriculture and rural development. Each thematic topic will be linked with horizontal topics. These topics include measures addressing climate change, adaptation to climate change (implementation of the EU Green Deal), technological advancements, and digitalization

Thematic workshop events are scheduled to be organized. Thematic meetings will be arranged in five provinces, identifying five thematic topics, and incorporating at least three case studies (Activity 3) in each province as part of the project’s objectives. The case studies are designed to comprehend the practical implementation of each theme and foster idea exchange with stakeholders.
At the conclusion of the project, a result-sharing and evaluation meeting will be convened. The aim is to share and evaluate the findings of the studies with stakeholders in rural development. The evaluation of results will be overseen by the Managing Authority, with the participation of relevant institutions, thematic participants from stakeholders, and project experts.
