The promotion of the structure and strategic plan of the Common Agricultural Policy Network (NRN), covering all 81 provinces, took place in Elazığ from September 25 to 29, 2023

On the first day of the meeting in Elazığ, Nihal BURHAN and Hasan İŞLER from the IPARD Managing Authority of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry paid visits to Oltan BAYRAKTAR, Deputy Governor of Elazığ, Ali KILIÇ, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Mustafa Selim ÖZATAY, Provincial Coordinator of Fırat Development Agency, İrfan GÜRBÜZ, Deputy Provincial Coordinator of Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution, and Özkan ÖZBAY, TAGEM Director.
During the visits, an assessment of the rural development profile of the region was conducted in alignment with the strategic plan and sustainability of the CAP Network. Information gathered from these assessments was then shared in preparation for the Core Group meeting.
On the second day of the study, a Core Group Meeting was conducted, coordinated by Oltan BAYRAKTAR, Deputy Governor of Elazığ. During this meeting, opinions were sought from representatives of participating institutions and organizations. Subsequently, regional responsibilities and representative offices were determined for the structuring of the Common Agricultural Policy in Elazığ province.
On the third day of the study, project experts delivered a presentation titled “EU New Common Agricultural Policy in the Rural Network Process: Overview and Strategic Plans” to liaison representatives of provincial organizations from relevant Ministries in Elazığ. The presentation, which took place in the meeting room of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, also included representatives from research institutes, Fırat University Faculty of Fisheries, and Elazığ Chamber of Agriculture, concluding with the completion of the Focus Group meeting. On the same day, a stakeholder meeting took place, bringing together various contributors to the rural development of the region, including agricultural cooperatives, farmers, local action groups, private sector representatives, union representatives, and project beneficiaries. The meeting served as a platform to exchange information regarding the potential, priorities, and challenges for the development of the province.
On the final day, visits were made to a cattle farm, a local product production facility, and a pottery production factory, all of which were supported by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution. During the visits, discussions were held to address requests and demands, and valuable suggestions were gathered.
The NRN structuring work in Elazığ concluded on September 29, led by Ali KILIÇ, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, along with Ministry experts. The assessment of the situation was successfully completed on the same day by Ali KILIÇ and the Ministry experts.
