RRural development is vital for a balanced and sustainable development for all segments of society. Social goals can only be achieved through collective and organized action. The key to development is to structure the rural area together and preserve the integrity of local cultural values. The national rural network aims to ensure effective implementation of rural development policies on one hand and to offer new approaches for rural development on the other. It is aimed at including interest groups within the context of rural development policies and ensuring participation of a wide range of of individuals (from policy makers to project beneficiaries) at every stage of the cycle,
This wide range of stakeholders can be divided into three broad categories:
Policy planners: policy makers; Public administrators of national, regional and local governments and European institutions; LEADER local action groups.
Bodies representing interest groups:direct growers associations, landowners, forest managers, rural businesses, stakeholders of the agri-food supply chain, environmentalists, researchers, communities disadvantaged groups.
